CCF Contingent July 2024

Ccf

Twenty-Two cadets from the Army Section of the school's CCF Contingent attended the Headquarters South East Cadet Training Team (HQSE CTT) Annual Summer Camp "Exercise Tiger Experience 24". During the camp, the cadets took part in an exciting and challenging training package, including activities such as clay pigeon shooting, paintball, DCCT (Dismounted Close Combat Trainer), escape rooms, advanced fieldcraft, survival skills (improvised fire making and axe throwing), adventurous training (stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, improvised rafting, mountain biking, rock climbing, archery), and live firing on an electronic target range at 100m.

The camp culminated in a competition day, with stands consisting of archery, clay pigeon shooting, drill, military knowledge, mountain biking, and survival skills. Each of our cadets took part in at least one of the competition stands, which resulted in 3rd place in archery, clay pigeon shooting, and mountain biking. A job well done to all who took part in the different stands.

The camp was a challenging but rewarding experience for all involved, who worked very hard during the heat. The Contingent Staff who attended (Capt. Jones, CSgt Morrison, and PI Sear) all gave high praise to the cadets for their excellent behaviour, attitude, effort, and mental fortitude during the week.
