Goodwood Festival of Speed

FOS2024 (7)On Thursday, fifteen Year 10 students had the chance to take part in a STEM trail around the opening day of the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Throughout the day, the students attended various talks and presentations on a wide range of topics:

- Dan McLaren
- EV Q&A and myth-busting
- EV Upcycling
- Enterprise DB/AI and the world's oceans
- Red arrow display followed by a STEM Q&A session
- Firework display on the center display sponsored by MG
- Launch/presentation of several new cars such as the BMW M5 and Ford Capri.

During the day, the students also had the option to visit many stands and car displays at the Future Lab, which featured over 20 stands of interactive displays from a wide range of companies. There were AI offerings, including autonomous drones for testing across various industries, and the Electric Av, which showcased several EV cars for today and the future.

 

Additionally, there were notable classic and fun cars, with the Wacky racing cars on display. Even the staff took the opportunity to try the Williams Car simulator around a race track or up the Goodwood Hill.
